Working with Older Learners Day (January 19th 2002)

On Saturday January 19th 2002, the APTT collaborated with Age Concern North Tyneside to mount a training day which incorporated both tutors and learners in a concentrated examination of the pitfalls and best-practice in teaching and working with older learners. Twenty tutors and learners turned up at Wallsend Town Hall (North Tyneside) for the event, and and a good time was had by all wrestling with the various factors that (we hope) may improve learning prospects for this increasingly important group. Some of the photo's from the event are below. Our thanks go to Penny Remfry from Age Concern North Tyneside for helping with the planning and teaching of this event. Thanks as ever go to Wallsend Town Hall (particularly Don Taws) for help with the venue for the event.
